Vianey Leos Barajas obtained her Ph.D. in Statistics from Iowa State University in the summer of 2019 and is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at North Carolina State University in both the Departments of Statistics and Forestry & Environmental Resources. She has research interests in the areas of statistical ecology, time series modeling, Bayesian statistics and, more recently, spatial modeling of environmental data and disease ecology. As she finds much joy in interdisciplinary and collaborative projects, she is also likely to be working closely with marine biologists (especially those who work with sharks) often and on many projects.
